Schedule for Vision 2020!

Hello Great Questions Group Friends!

Happy New Decade everyone!  Hard to believe we’ve already completed two since the New Millennium!  Time seems to be flying by…and moving at an ever increasing rate!

Speaking of which, my Big Birthday Celebration Event, Vision 2020, is just over 2 months away!  (March 27–29th @ Sandy Cove, in North East, MD)

Therefore, as promised, I wanted to share the Schedule for the Weekend with everyone, so I have posted it on our Events Page where you can find all the info for Vision 2020:  www.markdematteo.com/events!

Though this will be an ideal occasion for all of us to gather for a relaxing, warmhearted and fun-filled visit where we can catch up, eat together and even make some new friends, it is not intended to be just a social…for this mortal life is far too fragile, short and precious for only that!

So I am also planning on conducting several brief sessions through which I can share–in person–an overview of the profound insight and perspective I’ve gained through my life-long Great Questions Quest.

Actually, they are a unique gift I wish to give to each of you, as they will deal with an ultimate, extraordinary reality which will inevitably impact all of us…and in this crazy, mixed up world in which we live–which seems to be racing toward the End of this Age–can provide the same transcendent peace in the present and hope for the future to you, that it has for me and many others…and which is far beyond anything this current life can offer!

If you haven’t already, make plans to join us…you and yours would be most welcome!

🙂

Site Update

Hi Folks!

FYI, I just recently completed a major update to the most recent version of this website, as well as the back end software that runs it. (Among other new features and capabilities, it should now load faster and be even more secure.)

Through the process, however, one of my plugin apps (Jetpack) quit working, and consequently most of the info on the sidebar of the Homepage and the info on the Contact Us page is now missing.

I am researching this, and trust it will be resolved shortly!

Re: My Mom

Dear Friends,

First, I wanted to extend my heart-felt thanks to each of you who sent along your kind condolences, thoughts and prayers, via cards, emails, etc., regarding my Mom’s passing…they are all most appreciated!

Next, I promised to share the proceedings for any who might be inclined and available…but please understand, this is not intended to make anyone feel obligated to attend. 🙂

Per my Mom & Dad’s wishes, a “Mass of Christian Burial” will be held on December 28th, 2019, at 10:30am, at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 6720 Union Mill Rd., Clifton, VA 20124

A light brunch reception will follow at 12pm at Chantilly National Golf & Country Club, 14901 Braddock Rd, Centreville, VA 20120

(Interment will take place at a later date in Watervliet, NY.)

Also–and again, only if any might feel inclined–in lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in my Mom’s memory to your favorite charity.

Finally, I would like to extend my very best warm wishes, thoughts & prayers to each of you and yours, during this wonderful Christmas Holiday Season!

–Mark 🙂

The Passing of my Mom

20191118_110931Mom & Mark 11_4_19

Dear Friends,

I wanted to take a moment to let you all know that my Mom, Mary Ann DeMatteo, passed peacefully into Eternity this past Saturday, 11.16.19 @ 11:15am at the age of 82.

She was here at home, and my Father and I had the privilege of being right by her side at the moment of her departure.

She had been in slowly declining health for quite some time, and as many of you know, she and my Dad had moved in with me in Nov. of 2017 so I could help him care for her.

As her health continued to deteriorate, her needs had become more extensive and specialized.

Consequently, we recently began using an in-home Hospice service to help us care for her.

Though certainly a season of sorrow, my Father and I also share a profound sense of gratitude for the amazing way our Great God answered our prayers and guided and comforted us throughout the process, and trust that she is now with Him in a far greater reality.

We will keep you updated on the proceedings for her which will be forthcoming, but not immediate.

In the meantime, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

–Mark D  🙂

Vision 2020 Update: Markus D @ Sandy Cove!

I had the opportunity recently, to make a Pre-Event Visit to Sandy Cove to meet with some of the staff and reacquaint myself with the venue prior to our Vision 2020 Celebration next March.  (See Events! page above)

It is just as I remembered–beautiful and peaceful location, and a lovely facility with abundant and delicious food–all you can eat buffets!

One new item they’ve added are Cold Filtered Water Dispensers throughout the facility, so no need to bring/buy bottled water for those who do…just bring your own container for Free Fill Ups…as much and as often as necessary!

While there, I recorded a short VIDEO greeting overlooking the Bay to share with everyone…

Markus D @ Sandy Cove!

And here are just a few pix…gorgeous sunsets!

Broken Brains Part 1

Hello Great Questions Group Friends!

I have had quite a number of people of late, ask me what my take is on some of the craziness and confusion which seems to be going on with the way many people are behaving today.

To help answer this, I have been reading something to these folks that was shared with me many years ago, which altered my perspective on what is really happening.

So I thought it would be worthwhile sharing it with our Group, too!

Broken Brains Pt 1 8.15.19

And here are a few comments from some folks which have already made reservations to Vision 2020!  (Check out the Events page!)

Thanks. I can’t wait. This will be great. Thank you for setting it up!  –R.I.

We look forward to celebrating with you next March!  –L.B.

Thanks so much!  Looking forward to relaxing and learning lots!  –A.G.

A Thought…

Most of us

would probably live our lives

by radically different priorities

if we truly understood the reality

of just one word…

Eternity.

A GQG Special Msg: An Autobiography In 5 Short Chapters

Hole in Sidewalk

Hello GQG Friends!

Recently I came across a little essay which I had first learned about back many years ago, when I was fairly early in my network marketing days.

This simple and yet profound little piece has not only resonated with me, but many, many others I have had the opportunity to share it with over the years, as I think virtually everyone can identify with it.

So, I thought I’d take a moment to share it with our Group too, in the hope that it will perhaps be both an illumination and an encouragement to many of you as well!

Best,

Mark D 🙂

An Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
–by Portia Nelson

Chapter 1
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost … I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in the same place.
But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter 5
I walk down another street.
